From Clifton Tennessee to Grand Harbor Marina, Mississippi

We left Clifton the home of T.S. Stribling (who? ).
This Clifton "claim to fame" was born in 1881 wrote many novels and short stories. His book "The Store" won a Pulitzer prize in 1933.  He isn't well known despite the fact that more of his books were sold than those of his contemporaries, William Faulkner and Ernest Hemingway!!

Our trip to our next marina featured great weather and scenery; however the 3 hour process of locking through to Lake Pickwick was a little long!
The Grand harbour Marina in Mississippi is a complete resort marina with all amenities included.  The courtesy car was useful in helping us to get to a good resturant on Sunday, and to the town of Savanna on Monday for shopping, and site seeing.

We particularly enjoyed visiting the many mansions of the historical district of Savanna;  and afterward the several hours we spent at the Shiloh Civil War Museum and battle fields.

The Shiloh church played a role in the war

Oh! Let's not forget all of the great people we met at the local Moose Lodge; Jim, Marc, and Rickey
were three guys who made us feel at home as they gave us the royal tour!  We will stay in touch.

Tomorrow we will stay for a third day to do a little boat cleaning and some more sightseeing.

We will then take a 2 week side trip to Chattanooga Tennessee and back to this area to continue our trip down Tenn Tom waterway on our way Florida.
