Frankfort days 2 and 3

We are waiting in Frankfort for a good weather window.  Frankfort is not a bad place to spend a little time; it is just south of the Sleeping Bear National Lakeshore Park with its dunes up to 480 ft high.  The Town is a hot spot for salmon and trout fishing.  Seeing the boats with their all of their equipment brought back memories of my many years of fishing Lake Michigan.
Yesterday was supposed to be terribly windy so we didn't go;  it wasn't! but it rained all day.  Silver lining is that we both accomplished a lot, Jayne with her organizing and cleaning and me with my planning; also, we found a great little restaurant for breakfast and lunch. Today, our 3rd day in Frankfort we moved to a different marina, also very good, but more reasonable in cost.  We then broke out the bikes and explored the area by way of a scenic bike path around Betsy Lake where we were docked.  The path took us to a little town called Elberta which we explored in about 20 minutes and then back on the path for another 10 miles along the Betsy river to a resort area on Crystal Lake; a large lake with a  little town called Beulah.  Along the way we met and had a nice discussion with Veronica a local person  The trail was very scenic, the homes around Beulah unusually attractive, and the lake and beaches beautiful.

It seems  that tomorrow the winds will allow us to travel  the 65 miles to the town of Pentwater Michigan.
