This was the day of the wooden boat festival in which two person teams competed in a boat building competition. The boats were built according to certain specifications and then graded according to accuracy, speed and finally the race in the water. The 9 ft long boats were built in two to three hours.
It was really interesting to see the abilities and techniques of the 15 teams. The 1st place team was a husband and wife team.
We did a little sightseeing and shopping with a courtesy car, after which we did some boat cleaning chores.

Lots of people in town |
A very historic town dating back to 1702. Lots of things happening: boat tours, bus tours, demonstrations, and a boat show of older wooden boats. A great day to be in Beaufort!!
Tomorrow, on to Belhaven, NC
