We enjoyed the beautiful scenery of the Dismal Swamp conservation area today. This morning we left the welcome center to travel 6 miles to park the boat, launch the dingy, and travel by dingy on a scenic route simply called the Ditch! After about 8 miles we came to a hugh lake; Drummond Lake. We traveled much of the shoreline and after several hours returned to our boat. We then traveled 15 miles to the next bridge and lock to stop short at a free dock to eat a mexican meal and spend the night.
The entire day was spent with our new found friends Denny and Rhonda who were also married on April 30th; Denny is a musician/singer. Rhonda gave Jayne a shoulder pulley that she used for her shoulder operations.
Their boat which is a slow trawler is named ADAGIO a musical term for very slow.
To Gulf Coast Canvas: Thanks for a nice job on our canvas and for your support and help.
We have some beautiful pictures of this gorgous area but the computer seems not wanting to print them. Maybe tomorrow!
Tomorrow we travel to Norfolk VA where we will stay for 6 days while we attend the Looper seminars for 4 days and sight see for 2 days.
This will be our last posting until May 18th. I will try to send out the pictures from today as soon as possible.
