To Elizabeth

The dismal swamp

Welcome to North Carolina!
The dreaded Abermerle sound took about 1 1/2 hours to get across (3 ft waves), we were lucky we had good winds; tons and tons of crab traps just waiting to get in to our props and shut down the engines.  Didn't happen! (Jaynes careful driving and our diligent observation)

Elizabeth City is known as the friendliest city on the loop.  All boaters are treated to cocktails and munchies and a rose for the ladies!

We moved on to the dismal swamp which is simply beautiful.  We stayed the night at the North Carolina Welcome Center with six other boats (nice people!)

Tmorrow some exploring, and a stay in a state park.
