The Chicago River Through Town

Jayne and I thoroughly enjoyed the fantastic sights as we traveled through the heart of town.
Here are a few of those scenes,

After the exciting trip through town we got our first lesson on sharing the rivers with tugboats and barges.  We waited for 3 hours to get into the Lockport lock!  Commercial boats have precedence over pleasure boats; this makes sense but hopefully such long waits won't be the norm.

In Joliet we stayed in in their bicentennial Park (for free!).  We walked to Harrah's Casino; gambled a little and had a 1st class meal.

Tomorrow we we travel to Ottawa Illinois.
