Pentwater Michigan

Lake Michigan was a well behaved super pond with no waves over 6 inches!  We arrived in Pentwater around 3:00 lucky to get the marina's last slip; we had read that the southern part of the lake is very crowded with boat traffic and that we need to call well ahead.  It's true.

The town of Pentwater is a really charming friendly town on the fringe of huge sand dunes.  The view north from the beach is fantastic.
In town we were treated to an outdoor concert by a fine community concert band.

We see lots of fishing boats and lots of salmon being brought in by towns people, vacationers and charterboats; this is the peak of their fishing season.
Many of the people we meet want to know about our travels and the details of where we live; when we left home; when we will return, etc.
Bruce and Marie, college professors in the sail boat next to us insisted that we enjoy a beer together while we talk - a really nice couple.

Tomorrow we travel to Muskegon Michigan where we will meet our good friends Ray and Susan Mitterer.  We will be together about a week until we arrive in Chicago at Du Sable Marina.

  1. Bob & Jayne, This is Maria, half of the couple you met in Pentwater. I just wanted to say it was a pleasure meeting you both. I've read through most of your archives and doing the Loop might have made it on to my life goals list! Thanks for sharing your journey.
