Jayne and I left for South Haven based on a wave forecast of 1 foot- and after a couple of miles we turned back to Muskegon because of the 4 to 7 foot waves!
Ray and Susan had gone visiting with their car.  We in turn decided to ride our bikes through town visiting a fine descriptive WW11 Landing Craft/Museum; the train depot museum; and other historic sites.  We rode the 15 mile bike trail almost to Lake Michigan.   We met Ray and Susan at the boat for cocktails and dinner at the marina hotel. Although we didn't go on to our next port we had a great day in Muskegon.

On the 8th of August we left Muskegon for the 2nd time and the weather was beautiful for all of the 65 miles.  Susan enjoyed the trip with us for the ride to South Haven Michigan.  Like so many places in Michigan and Canada, South Haven was a lumber town and is now a resort and tourist center.
This is reputed to be the BLUEBERRY CAPITAL OF THE WORLD;  the ANNUAL BLUEBERRY FEST will take place starting on the 11th of August for 5 days featuring lots of entertainment.

We strolled along the great waterfront and main street of South Haven enjoying a good spagetti dinner and visiting the many shops and attractions.  All four us exhibited great restraint by NOT sampling the great icecream!

We will not move on to New Buffalo until we get a good forecast.  It doesn't look good for the next day or two.
